Why Buy From Us

RSI Motorsports DBA PhilipsHIDKits.com Warranty is one of the best in the industry.  Have you looked at the actual warranty with sites that offer you a lifetime warranty on a $35 HID Kit, it is truley pathetic.  They offer you a lifetime warranty but it actaully ends up costing you almost as much as buying a new kit, Im sorry but the purpose of a warranty is to get an item fixed or replaced at no cost to the customer.  If these so called sites actually offered a legitimate lifetime warranty that didn't require the customer to pay $30 to get their kits replaced, they would be out of business, especially since they are already selling the cheapest kits possible which will most likely last 1 year at best.  Do some research on these companies and you will find that their warranties are really a discount program for a new kit and not an actual warranty.  One more thing on our competitors warranty, if you ordered a 6000k kit but it looks more like 10000k, guess what they won't replace your bulbs for the correct color.  Their exact words are: bulb color variations due to lot-to-lot and manufacturer-to-manufacturer differences is not a basis for a warranty claim.  What this says is we can ship any color close to what you ordered and you can't return it.  Im sorry but if you order a 6000k HID Kit you should receive 6000k, not 8000k or 10000k, you picked a color and thats what you should get.

At RSI Motorsports are warranty program is set up so the customer does not have to pay to get replacement parts or a replacement kit. If the wrong color was shipped we will make sure to get the correct one to you.  I find it funny how corrupt and deceiptful some companies can be yet customers still purchase from them becuase they are the cheapest.  There is a reason their kits are so cheap, they use an outdated DC ballast technology.  Then they lie to you stating that they are AC ballast when they really aren't.  We know all their HID suppliers and know that the kits they offer are an outdated DC ballast technology if they were really buying AC ballast HID Kits, they would not be selling them at $35 or even $40, the cost on these kits even in large bulk quatities is almost double the cost of a DC Ballast HID Kit.  We only provide AC HID Ballasts with our kits and always provide our customers with honest answers and never lead them to think our HID Kits are something different.

Difference Between $35 HID Kits and Higher End Kits

The real truth behind cheap HID conversion kits.  We know most people decide to purchase after-market HID Kits based on price and there are many HID stores out there that offer those cheap HID kits, Like D*M, V**E and X****c (Competitors blacked out but if you fill in the stars you know the companies) but the biggest source for cheap HID kits is Ebay.  We have access to those cheap HID Kits as well and even tried selling them for a while until we really did our research and found out why those kits are so cheap.  The truth behind $30-$50 HID kits and why our competitors listed above sell them for so cheap, is they all use an outdated cheap DC ballast technology.

So why are DC ballasts so bad, the reason DC ballasts are bad is because with DC Ballasts, electricity flows in one direction, DC ballasts will make positive Ions run to the negative side and cause it to get hotter and brighter on that side. Mercury vapor lamps can run DC, but it might only run reliably if the tip end of the electrode is negative and the end base is positive. The starting electrode will do better when it has the positive side. But what could happen is if the nearby main electrode is a positive side it could cause a thin film of metal that could build up and short the starting electrode to the nearby main positive electrode, which causes your HID lamp to short out.

Metal halide and Sodium vapor lamp should never get DC due to the hot metal vapors which will leak in the quartz glass and cause wear on the Quartz glass, due to the DC electrical field.  Negative Main electrodes will not release as much Metal vapor since most of the Ions are Positive, and will condense on the electrode rather than the nearby arc tube.  This causes a fogging effect on the HID bulbs, which means less light ouput.

So what does this mean to the consumer?  Well, it means that companies that use this cheaper DC Ballasts technology are selling you a kit that will not last as long and most likely won't even last as long as a typical halogen bulb.  Because one of the bulbs will run brighter and hotter it will eventually change color and fail in a very short amount of time.  DC Kits typically last 500-1000hrs which is the exact same as halogen bulbs.  Since DC Kits run hotter they can also cause damage to your electrical wires and cause a fogging effect of your headlights and HID bulbs as well.  We know we cannot convince everyone and there will always be people that shop on Price alone but do the research before you buy so you don't end up making a costly mistake going with an outdated Cheap DC HID Kit.

All of our HID kits at PhilipsHIDKits.com use AC Ballasts.  Why do so many competitors still use DC ballasts, because they are cheap to manufacturer, hence cheap to sell and when a company only thinks about having the lowest price they don’t care what type of product they put out there, they only care about volume and sales, not about what is best for the CUSTOMER and their car.
